Session 6: River Crocodile's Feast and Desert Woes

https://on.soundcloud.com/286dR9qGaOX75mDhqd The desert wind whispers tales to those who listen, and I, a solitary wanderer, have made it my trade to listen intently. From a distance, I watch the fools and heroes who brave these sands, then carry their stories to the taverns, where ale flows as freely as courage. Lately, the talk has been of a particular group, nineteen days out from Tanis, now on day 20, entangled in a saga of thirst, a mysterious dwarven chest, and encounters that would make even the hardiest adventurer shiver. Here’s what I've pieced together about their latest trials: The Predicament: Thirst, Hunger, and a Chest of Riches When I first caught sight of them, they were dangerously low on water. Their dwarven companion, Stripes, had managed to open a spooky dwarven chest using a prayer incantation, finding valuables that surely made him a wanted man back in Tanis. But treasures don't quench thirst. They were down to a single pinch of sugar, an ingredient need...

Session 5: Caravan's End: Deserts, Dwarves, and Destiny

Whispers from the Wasting Lands: A Caravan's Fate and Dwarven Secrets! Ah, another day unfolds in this unforgiving desert, and with it, new tales for my collection! You see, dear patrons, while most brave these harsh lands for glory or coin, I prefer to watch the fascinating dance of those who do. And what a show these particular adventurers are putting on! Day 18 of their journey through Rainhelven offered a rather 'mixed' start, wouldn't you say? A Troubled Rest and Prickly Paths Imagine, most of these brave souls had no preparations for sleeping on the trail . Two, a burly dwarf (Stripes) and a cleric/magic-user (Jalen), opted for the 'comfort' of the open road, while two others (Fitz and Trellimar) chose to slumber in their very armor – a choice that quickly came back to haunt Trellimar with penalties on his checks by the second night . Only one, a cloaked figure (Lyra), found some semblance of comfort, while the ranger, Lowell, chose the modest shelter of...

Session 4: Desert Quests: Caravan's Fate and Crocodile gods

From the journal of The Desert Observer, found tacked to a dusty wall in the Drunken Camel Inn, Tanis: Whispers from the Dunes: The Tanis Six and the Lost Caravan Greetings, weary travelers and thirsty souls! The shifting sands of Rainhelven hold many tales, and none more intriguing than the fresh adventure unfolding with a certain band of disparate souls who call themselves adventurers. I've observed them for a mere day, yet already, their journey promises to be one for the bards. It was on the 17th day of Rainhelven , when this group, seemingly fresh from slumber, began their day here in Tanis. Their company is a curious mix, a veritable caravan of character: • Trellimar, an Elven Cleric Druid • Fitz , a Half Elf Fighter and, it's whispered, a Thief • Lowell , the Ranger • Stripes , a sturdy Dwarven Fighter • Jalen Starfire , a Cleric and Magic User • And Lyra , an Elven Ranger They seem to operate with a unique internal structure, designating a "caller" to coordin...

Session 3: Days 15 and 16 of Rainhelven - Adventuring Preparations: Quests and City Life

Image
The Sands of Tanis: An Observer's Journal The desert wind whispers tales, and I, the Desert Observer, find myself drawn once more to the heart of them, recently settling in at The Glowing Portal Inn in the sun-baked city of Tanis. It is Day 16 of Rain Helven, and the dry heat is a constant companion, though the inn, bless its industrious owners, employs a clever system of slats, ice, and fans to offer a surprising coolness within its walls. Tanis itself feels like a hub in the arid expanse. To the west lie the feared Wheezing Gasp goblins, led by hobgoblins, known for their raids. Eastward, the Burning Brand orcish tribes loom, with a prophet in Crocodiliopolis dreaming of fiery devastation. The city hums with mundane life, yet whispers of deeper dangers persist: reports of animated dust devils stealing livestock and the discovery of a half-buried stone tablet near Lipel, possibly holding the true name of an undead lord. These are the undercurrents in the daily grind, the city'...

Session 2: Follow-up on character creation

The group continued to form and decide how they were going to act. The session was spent buying equipment and ensuring that there was a balance of items for each of the adventurers.

Session 1: New Characters for adventure

This sessions was begun by creating new characters and equipping them. These are the new characters: Trellimar, a rare gray elf druid/cleric. Trellimar is true neutral and in the middle of the middle social class.  Fitz, a half elf fighter/thief. Fitz is also true neutral and he is in the middle of the lower social class.  Lowell is a human ranger. Lowell is neutral good, and in the upper of the lower social class.  Stripes is a dwarven fighter. Stripes is lawful neutral and in the upper of the middle class.  Jalen Starfire is a gray elf cleric/magic-users. Jalen is chaotic good and in the middle of the upper class.  This band of adventurers will be joining their fates together to explore a desert land, travelling to the city of Tanis, known as a locale for adventurers due to the many opportunities to the east and west.
